Supply chain management at its best?

We have all heard of Dell being the icon of supply chain management (SCM). And then there were cases of Zara etc. But here is a different story.

I recently bought a suit. While putting it on the other day, out of curiosity, I checked where it was made. The trousers/pants were made in India. I was a bit surprised as I have not heard of suits being made in India, shirts and trousers yes, but suits never heard of it. So, I said let me check where the jacket was made. It turns out the jacket was made in Columbia!! I was surprised, this company (a leading designer wear that I will refrain from naming) has a suit made in 2 different countries and has paired it up as a set. How could they make sure that they were pairing up the same colour and fabric of jacket and trousers?

Amazing!!

Australian Goal in Football World Cup

Australia has qualified for the 2006 football world cup for the first time after 1974. But, if you thought an Australian has never scored a goal in world cup football then you are wrong.

Apparently, there is only one Australian player to have scored a goal in the world cup. But it is not recorded because he scored it into his net, it was a self goal.

So, an Australian has scored a goal albeit a self goal.
